If you think you may be a descendant of a Revolutionary War Patriot, the following websites may be of use in your search. To go to a specific website, click on its blue name.

​

SAR National Registry The SAR maintains a list of every Patriot who has been represented by a past or present member of the Society. You can access this list to see if your Patriot has ever been represented by a member of the Society.

​

Patriot Paths is a free searchable database developed by the Tennessee State Library and Archives. Its developers have listed thousands of Patriots who had some connection to Tennessee, both before and after it became the 16th State in 1796.

​

Fold 3 is a searchable database that contains the digitized military and non-military records of millions of soldiers and sailors who fought in America's wars, from the Revolutionary War to the present. It is a tremendous resource for locating Revolutionary War Patriots and proving the details of their service.

Daughters of the American Revolution. You can go to their site and see if you ancestor is listed as one of the Patriots already in their system.

Isaac Shelby Patriots

​

The Patriots listed below are the ancestors of past or current members of the Isaac Shelby Chapter of the SAR. If they were soldiers or sailors, their rank and military unit appear with their names and, in the parentheses, some of the more notable engagements in which they participated. If they were civilian Patriots who helped the cause of American freedom, their contribution appears after their name, followed by their place of service. If their names are in blue, they are linked to a website that mentions them.
