About the event
Celebrate the 250th birthday of our nation by stepping back in time and making history!
At noon on July 8, 1776, Colonel John Nixon stood on the steps of Philadelphia's Independence Hall and read the Declaration of Independence to the public for the very first time. As part of the America 250 Celebration, 18 communities across Tennessee are recreating this historic moment—and you are invited to be a part of it.
Whether you want to join a grand gathering in downtown Memphis, enjoy a community evening in Munford, or participate from the comfort of your own home, there is a way for everyone to unite in this global moment.
